Our Story

Since our inception in 1973, The Prep Center has been dedicated to providing top-tier early childhood education. Recognized for our commitment to excellence, we are proud to offer a Tier 1 curriculum approved by the Department of Education. Our center has become a beacon for parents seeking a comprehensive, enriching, and supportive environment for their children. With a 4-star rating, we continue to uphold our tradition of quality and care.

Our Director

Lois Jordan has dedicated her career to early childhood education, serving at The Prep Center since 1977 and assuming the role of director in 1990. She holds the National Administrator Credential (NAC) and an ancillary teaching certificate, reflecting her commitment to excellence in education. Lois has actively contributed to the field, serving on the Early Childhood Advisory Council board in Baton Rouge, LA, and holding board positions at the Children's Coalition, LPAC, and CCAL.

A member of Bonita Road Baptist Church, Lois is deeply involved in her community. Her contributions have been recognized with the 2023 Champion for Children award by the Childcare Association of Louisiana (CCAL). Beyond her professional achievements, Lois treasures her roles as a mother, grandmother, and the late Clifford Jordan's wife.
